PHILLIP SKIPPER
VICE PRESIDENT OF INDUSTRIAL, COMMERCIAL, & UTILITIES
Phillip W. Skipper serves as Vice President and leads Stansell Electric’s Industrial, Commercial, and Utilities (ICU) Group. In his role, he oversees business development and work acquisition, client relationships, talent development, operations, and the overall strategy and direction of the team. His leadership is centered around building strong teams, developing people, and delivering solutions that serve clients well across a wide range of markets and projects.
After earning his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Auburn University, Phillip began his career in materials testing and geotechnical design along the South Carolina coast, working on projects involving deep foundations, spread footings, and mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls. Following four years in that space and obtaining his Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, he transitioned into the general contractor sector with a focus on heavy industrial construction, primarily water and wastewater treatment facilities. Over the next 16 years, he specialized in the procurement and management of electrical, instrumentation and controls (I&C), and process equipment scopes on projects throughout the Southeast, including Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Tennessee. Phillip joined Stansell Electric in 2022.
What drives Phillip most is the growth and development of people.
He is passionate about helping individuals strengthen their careers, skills, and craft while building high-performing teams that create lasting value for clients and communities. He believes strong relationships both within teams and with clients are foundational to long-term success. Outside of work, Phillip enjoys spending time with family and friends and being outdoors whenever possible. He enjoys cycling and fishing, and actively volunteers at his local church, where he mentors a high school boys' group.
