DAVID STANSELL
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
As the grandson of founder James N. Stansell Sr., David Stansell's connection to the company runs deep, even if his path to it was anything but traditional. Before joining Stansell Electric, David co-founded a consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. area and grew it from two people to more than 100 consultants before the firm was acquired by a Volkswagen subsidiary. That experience shaped how he thinks about building organizations: with intention, with people at the center, and with an eye on what comes next.
David joined Stansell Electric in a finance and administration capacity, later serving as President before transitioning to his current role as CEO. Today, his focus is on long-term strategy and succession planning, including the ongoing rollout of the company's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). He works closely with President Rob Elliott to ensure day-to-day leadership is well-supported and that the company is positioned to grow for the next generation.
What drives him most is watching people exceed their own expectations. Whether building a team, developing leaders, or passing on a company to the employees who helped build it, David measures success by how far the people around him go.
Outside of work, David is a licensed pilot who regularly flies Angel Flight missions and uses his hours to serve others whenever possible. He picked up flying when his son left for college after years spent on soccer sidelines, and it stuck.
