BOBBY GAINES
SR. VICE PRESIDENT AT SEC & PRESIDENT OF VOLUNTEER POWER
Bobby Gaines, Jr. leads Volunteer Power, a newly acquired Stansell subsidiary focused on high voltage transmission and distribution work across the Tennessee Valley. In this role, he oversees a team built to expand Stansell's capabilities in utility-scale electrical work, a natural extension of a career spent pushing the company's reach into new markets.
Bobby's path in the industry is anything but straight-line. He started his career mapping power lines across the Southeast, joined Stansell in 1984, and has held nearly every role in between: electrical helper, Master Licensed Electrician, estimator, and head of the construction division. That range of experience has taken him across project types including commercial buildings, hospitals, sports facilities, aviation, water and wastewater plants, data centers, and transportation infrastructure. In recent years, his focus has shifted to growth, building Stansell's dedicated Industrial, Commercial, and Utility group and leading the acquisition that brought Volunteer Power into the Stansell family.
What drives Bobby is simple: results. Whether it's a new traffic signal for a municipality or restoring power to a small community after a winter storm, he keeps his eye on the outcome and he knows getting there takes the right team. For Bobby, a win for the client is a win for everyone.
Outside of work, Bobby is a self-described family man who will talk your ear off about his wife, kids, and grandpets. When he's not at work, you'll find him on the family farm or wake surfing on the lake.
