Description:
We are looking for a skilled Security Technician proficient with computer software, systems programming and integration, standard industry communication concepts, and who has sought and achieved multiple vendor certifications.
Responsibilities:
Assist and/or perform all aspects of installation, alteration, demolition, maintenance and/or repair of associated equipment on all type of projects within the security industry. Must be able to demonstrate and maintain a specialized level of skill within the security industry. Must also demonstrate the mechanical aptitude, mathematical skills, and literacy skills to satisfactorily complete the position's primary duties and responsibilities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proficient at all low voltage and fiber terminations.
- Proficient in the use of industry standard copper and fiber test equipment.
- Proficient with computer software, systems programming and integration, hardware and networks.
- Proficient in standard industry communication concepts involving LAN, WAN, RS232, RS422, RS485 and 20 mA.
- Proven mastery of relay logic and AC/DC low voltage circuits.
- Proven understanding of applicable NFPA 101 Life Safety standards.
- Proven understanding of the NEC and all low voltage related code standards.
- Create and modify as built drawings.
- Assist in the procurement and management of projects as required.
- Perform training and instructional workshops as required.
- Proven ability to successfully lead any type of security project.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comprehends and abides by Stansell Electric customer policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Reports all violations to immediate supervisor.
- Proven ability to clearly communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Perform project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervision.
- Understand and follow jobsite directions and instructions, both written and verbal.
- Perform the basic tasks of material handling, jobsite housekeeping, tool and equipment maintenance, and general labor.
- Perform basic conduit and raceway installation including the bending of conduit with hand benders.
- Perform basic assembly and installation of cable support and wire management systems.
- Proven ability to use cable placement tools and specialized cable tuggers.
- Performs all tasks in a timely manner.
- Read and understand schematics, blueprints, and instruction manuals.
- Achieve and Maintain any licenses / certifications as required by management.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
- Minimum of ten (10) years previous experience as a Security Technician
- Access Control Experience
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Attention to detail
- Valid driver license with reliable vehicle that can be used for business
- Strong code of ethics
- Leadership skills
- Service oriented, good “people skills”
